NEO-ROMANTICISM GALLERY. WATERCOLOURIST ANDREI STERKHOV. Russian Version
    NEO-ROMANTICISM WATERCOLOUR GALLERY

The works presented refer to the period when the artist actively exposed his works in art galleries of Great Britain:
Red Square Gallery, David Harrington Gallery in London and Arnhem Gallery and The Croydon Art Gallery in Croydon.
His personal exhibition took place in 1992 in the Croydon Art Gallery.
At that time Andrew Sterkhov was absorbed by aquarelle-picture genre, in which we observe certain extension of the traditional borders of the genre (landscape, a still-life, and a portrait) and their merge in a picture into an organic whole.
Complex allegoric implications, ambiguity of associative threads (parallels), transformation of real and concrete categories into some generalized philosophic ones - those are the main aspects of artistic imagery of his works that date back to that period.
